OBJECTIVE

To strengthen and develop the skills of specialist teachers in Krousar Thmey schools.
To train teachers of the public education system for special needs pupils with a view to transferring these schools to the Cambodian authorities

PROJECT

Training of Krousar Thmey staff
If Krousar Thmey team have developed a unique expertise in Cambodia concerning education for children with visual or hearing disabilities, it is still essential to develop their skills through regular training sessions. As a result, the association has set up a training program throughout the year, based on the needs identified by the school management staff.
This continuous training is reinforced during the summer break, during which a training seminar is held each year, bringing together teachers, trainers and directors.

Training of teachers in the public education system
Krousar Thmey plans to transfer its special schools to the Ministry of Education by 2020 (click here for more information). To better prepare it, the association implements an inclusive and specialized education training plan for government personnel. This includes the creation of 3 national curricula, which will serve as a reference for the initial and in-service training of teachers in Cambodia:
1 Inclusive Education Curriculum for Teacher Students
1 Curriculum on Education for deaf or hearing impaired children for newly graduated and in-service teachers
1 Curriculum on Education for blind or visually impaired children for newly graduated and in-service teachers
